I’m Emma Powell, owner and principal photographer and designer at Pal Photo Art studio. That sounds a lot more important than it really is, and it doesn’t really sound all that important!

Essentially what I do is work my tail off behind the scenes to make sure you have a relaxing, casual, and fun photography experience followed by amazing products and prints. Here’s what I look like working, I get really into it.

Whether it’s custom portraits in your home, outdoors communing with nature, or at your event, my laid back and authentic but honest professional attitude (better known as sarcasm with a smile) will deliver a unique experience. I’m not one to be full of contrived sentimentality, and refreshingly not full of crap. I like to get to know you and create the kinds of photos and images that really express you, no matter if you’re quiet, reserved, outspoken, or outside the box. The bottom line is that you, your business, or your home has personality, and so should your photos!

I’ve been designing digital graphics and scrapbooks for many years, and that naturally led to my desire to pursue the photographic arts so my layouts would look better. I was always “that artsy” kid growing up, never far from a sketch pad or brush. Digital photography and art has renewed my passion for the visual arts because I finally found something my kids can’t smudge, unravel, or splatter.

I believe everyone deserves beautiful portraits, no matter what your budget. I work with a team of photographers and designers to deliver you the best event coverage and photo products available.

And just in case you don’t recognize the lady with the really big camera when we meet for your photo shoot, hopefully this will help. I admit I did a little Photoshop on myself, but I figured it was finally my turn for a virtual makeover. Just add 10 years, and you’ll know it’s me!

Newborn Sessions Having a baby is such a unique experience every single time. I should know, I have had five of them! My experience with newborns personally and professionally puts you and your newborn in capable, calm, and patient hands. There are several packages to suit your individual family. After booking an approximate date, please call as soon as you are home from the hospital, when baby is about 3-days old, to finalize the session time. Newborn sessions are for babies 5-10 days old. Newborn and Family Small $300 We spend a lot of time during these sessions at your home changing, nursing, feeding, burping, rocking, screaming, soothing, so while they last 3 hours the actual photography time totals an hour. The package includes the 3-4 hour session with 5 favorite images as digital negatives. Newborn and Family Regular $500 The same loving atmosphere with as much time as it takes to capture the images we need as the small package, but all images individually edited as digital negatives on a commemorative DVD. Maternity + Newborn and Family $800 2 sessions for the price of 1 with all images individually edited as digital negatives on a commemorative DVD. A 1-hour maternity session designed to make you feel beautiful, as well as a newborn-only session after the birth. Maternity + Birth + Newborn $1000 This package includes the Maternity + Newborn as well as my being on hand during the birth at the hospital, center, or your home to capture the arrival, day or night! All images from all 3 sessions included, individually edited as digital negatives on a commemorative DVD.

It’s not my job to tell you what you really need or want. You’re the client, you tell me what is most important to you. With lab-quality prints in just a few seconds, I cover all types of events (such as weddings, family reunions, quincineras, bar/bat mitzvahs, holiday and birthday parties, sporting events, corporate gatherings,) and provide your guests with excellent, waterproof, smudge-proof prints they carry away right from the party!

No travel fee to cities in Central Texas (surrounding Austin, San Antonio), and travel fees to other locations such as Dallas, Houston, or other cities are always competitive and reasonable. I speak fluent French, working Spanish, and have travel experience in North America, Hawaii, Asia, and Europe.

Free Portrait Parties
Host a portrait party for free photos! Suitable for family holiday cards sessions, reunions, springtime outdoor photos, or anytime: invite family, friends, and neighbors for an afternoon or evening of 15-30 minute sessions. Guests pay $50 for session and 1 8×10, and for every $50 order host receives a free 8×10.

As a realtor, seller, or business owner, beautifully professional exterior and interior photos help you aggressively advertise your property or business in a competitive market. Realtors and stagers have a value-adding service to offer sellers at no upfront cost with options to pay on delivery for a discount, or defer until closing, giving you a tremendous value with no risk.

Photos include all rooms in home, front and back exterior and elevated pole photography, landscaping, acreage as applicable, and any special features by request.

Real Estate session times that include exterior images are scheduled to begin at sunrise (for north or east front exposures) or end at sunset (for south or west front exposures). Depending on time of year, this ranges from 6:30-8am and 5:30-7:30pm.

1. Send an email using the Contact Me page (info@palphotoart.com) and find out if the date you want is available, or what my availability is if your date is flexible. See how easy that is?

2. For large events like weddings, corporate parties, etc, a non-refundable $50 retainer is required to firmly book your date. If there is an inquiry for a shoot on your date and you have paid your retainer, I will turn it down. If you have tentatively booked and no retainer paid, I will contact you to confirm your continued interest in that date before booking it with another client. So in short, for large events, no retainer = tentative booking. Retainer = solid booking.

3. Sitting fees and 50% of event fees are due at the time of the session. Print and product fees, remaining event fees, are due after the online gallery is posted and before any orders are taken.

4. To make any payment, checks (personal or cashier), cash, or PayPal (bank or credit card +3% fee) are all good. PayPal is to info@palphotoart.com, cash usually (okay, always) comes in an envelope handed off in person, and email info@palphotoart.com for check payee and mailing information.

Now that wasn’t all about booking a session, some of it was about paying for a session, but as you can see I have very few rules in life as well as in photography. I am looking forward to working with you!
