Another gorgeous henna maternity belly art masterpiece by Michelle Pulsifer of On the Spot Body Art! She had to remind me to go set up the studio as she was nearing completion because I became completely mesmerized watching how quickly this intricate artwork appeared! A beautiful client set it off and was so fun to work with. It was like having our own live doll to play dress up with: girls never grow up, even when we become mothers!

Expecting another new baby, my long-time client opted for a body art maternity session with Michelle Pulsifer of On the Spot Body Art. A tree of life, a wrapped package, a gorgeous twist on the cliche heart hands on the belly pose, and a koi pond henna tatoo mixed in with some traditional maternity poses. We spent half a day with all the artwork, photos, and making beautiful art together.

Barbie and Ben with their boy-girl twins are expecting a new little sister into the house very soon! We almost didn’t make this maternity photo shoot appointment because she spent the night before in the hospital. They have a gorgeous Volente home outside Austin with a jungle-themed great room, and it was so fun to get into character with the rain forest animals so the prints can be displayed around the space they hang out as a family. Michelle Pulsifer of On the Spot Body Art in Austin recently scheduled a painting party to beef up her photo portfolio with a day-long marathon of face and body painting. Lots of kids and pizza and paint, along with two gorgeous pregnant women for maternity painted and henna belly art to literally round out the event!

We have new belly art and boudoir body art joint packages starting at $160 that include painting and a photo session with 8×10 either in the studio, at your home, or outdoors in a private venue, and I’m excited about our new offerings.

I always love when a client is up for anything, and having a 9-month pregnant belly painted and displayed like fine art definitely ranks up there with anything! Beautiful mommy and gorgeous daughter are about to welcome a baby brother to the family (and handsome dad who does not make an appearance this session, we’ll try again). Faith Beltz and June Lamphier, midwives in Austin, TX, recently opened a new birth and women’s wellness center in south Austin, Centre Vida at 7002 Manchaca, Suite 200 Austin TX 78745 next door to the New Flower Market. It’s a beautiful facility that has already “given birth” to several new babies!
I am their new contracted photographer to display my framed maternity and newborn work in the office and design their promotional materials for print and web. These photos of the new center show not only the high-quality care received, but also the joy, life, family, and connection found there. I first met Faith when her now-retired colleague attended my first home birth in 2006, and then Faith delivered my own baby in our home in 2008. It is truly an honor to be given the opportunity to photograph these caring women in action. I am looking forward to capturing that spiriti in my designs, and I am very excited to be invited into the center during an upcoming birth to capture them at work.

Sometimes it’s hard to be pregnant and in front of a camera. I had 9 months to convince you to allow me to photograph you during this amazing and short-lived time. We’ll not mention the part where I actually had only 4 months because you hid your secret so well from everyone, even me! Did I just mention that? I hope you don’t regret having me, and that these make you feel every bit as beautiful as you are.

The McD family has 12 months of photo shoots to commemorate their baby’s first year. Starting with a maternity session, they have a few last days of only one child. Becca the dog is certainly excited to be getting a new baby brother!

Newborn Sessions Having a baby is such a unique experience every single time. I should know, I have had five of them! My experience with newborns personally and professionally puts you and your newborn in capable, calm, and patient hands. There are several packages to suit your individual family. After booking an approximate date, please call as soon as you are home from the hospital, when baby is about 3-days old, to finalize the session time. Newborn sessions are for babies 5-10 days old. Newborn and Family Small $300 We spend a lot of time during these sessions at your home changing, nursing, feeding, burping, rocking, screaming, soothing, so while they last 3 hours the actual photography time totals an hour. The package includes the 3-4 hour session with 5 favorite images as digital negatives. Newborn and Family Regular $500 The same loving atmosphere with as much time as it takes to capture the images we need as the small package, but all images individually edited as digital negatives on a commemorative DVD. Maternity + Newborn and Family $800 2 sessions for the price of 1 with all images individually edited as digital negatives on a commemorative DVD. A 1-hour maternity session designed to make you feel beautiful, as well as a newborn-only session after the birth. Maternity + Birth + Newborn $1000 This package includes the Maternity + Newborn as well as my being on hand during the birth at the hospital, center, or your home to capture the arrival, day or night! All images from all 3 sessions included, individually edited as digital negatives on a commemorative DVD.
